Schwerin Castle
The emblem of the city, is the "fairy tale castle", which is set in a unique landscape. Schwerin offers the perfect setting for a holiday for both rest or recreation. Schwerin is rich in tourist attractions. The one that stands out is the fairy tale palace, the "Neuschwanstein of the North". Schwerin, with its magnificent museums and orangery, is surrounded by a romantic park and the Mecklenburg State Theatre built in the Neo-Baroque style. At the heart of Schwerin is the Market Square in the Old Town Hall, withy its gabled houses and the Lion Monument all of which are note-worthy. Schwerin Castle (German: Schweriner Schloss) is the castle located in the city of Schwerin, which is the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in Germany.
It was for centuries home to the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg. Personally I was delighted by this little known German city.
