18 century mansion where The Sound of Music was filmed
A few minutes from the centre of Salzburg, you cannot miss a view of the lake and the famous building that staged the world-famous film The Sound of Music, which I saw countless times when I was a child. The eighteenth century mansion is now owned by an American educational institution, which provides its guests with facilities for events and sometimes works as a private guest house, where guests can enjoy 11 suites in the castle or 55 rooms in what is the Meierhof. In this Marble Hall sometimes dined Archbishop Firmian and the film maker Max Reinhardt.
