Isolated in Space and Time
This is possibly the worst monument with the worst future along Towers Road, since it's practically abandoned, closed and unattended. In the middle of nowhere, the old residence of the Sheriff of Clackmannan, given to him by King Robert I, or The Brus, for his loyalty and support in the 14th century, stands before us. In 1631, Alexander Schaw acquired and increased the property. Schaw's family exploited the adjoining land because of the area's mining boom. In 1980, a restoration project was approved that never started, a local group with the aim to prevent the tower from falling into oblivion was never created.
Because of a lottery, the roof was fixed and walls were reinforced. It's gorgeous and obviously has a very large historical value. Is anyone aware of this? It would also be very easy to exploit this tower and therefore amortize any capital invested in restoring this building. I look forward to talking about this tower in the future.
