The essence of Italy
Sassari is located in the north of the island and is the second-largest city in Sardinia. It's not a famous tourist attraction which, in my opinion, only adds to its appeal. The medieval city is full of narrow streets full of drying clothes and potted plants, a typical sight in Mediterranean cities. The medieval section of town begins at Piazza de la Universidad where the Palazzo Deubal and Cathedral are located. Later, the new city (built in the 19th century) is located near Piazza de Italia and the Via Roma. There's also a lovely public garden and I'd suggest visiting the Church of Santa Maria
