situated in the heart of the Atlantic Pyranees

Sare is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in France, which is certainly saying something. The villa is situated in the heart of the Atlantic Pyranees, close to other lovely towns such as Saint Jean Pied de Port and Saint Jean de Luz. Framed by the gently rolling landscape of the region, and only 30 kilometers away from the border with Navarre, Sare history has been heavily influenced by the customs and traditions of the Basque Country, as well as being considered at a time as the smuggling capital between Spain and France.

Sare's charm is that it is situated very close to the sea but it is also a villa surrounded by an incredibly rural setting. There are cobbled streets shaded by ancient plane trees, stone houses with slate roofs and doors and windows painted bright colors. There are also several trails that connect with other nearby towns for hiking or mountain biking and there are five interesting prehistoric caves nearby. These are just some of the attractions on offer in Sare. The main attraction today, is its spectacular cuisine. In the small village, which has only 3 or 4 blocks-there is a total of 9 restaurants, all with great charm and flavor.
