Playa del Sardinero is a gorgeous urban beach a little ways outside of the city center. There’s a large parking lot and plenty of services like bars, restaurants, sun chairs, and lifeguards. There’s also a pleasant boardwalk that lines the entire beach. Even on cloudy days, the beach is full of people swimming, walking, and playing paddleball. It’s a must if you’re in Santander.

Playa del Sardinero is enormous, especially during low tide. There are always lots of people but you never get the sensation that it’s crowded.
By morning, be it a rainy or sunny one, you will find people doing all kinds of sports. It is a great place to take a calm walk, people will greet you as they walk by, you will see people meditating or sitting in the sand reading a book.
You are allowed to walk your dog, and I love dogs, I actually have four, and they make me smile every day.
Santander is one of those places that surprise you every time you go there. It has an exquisite weather, the people are great, with a great atmosphere, peace and tranquility. The Sardinero is one of the prettiest beaches, very shallow.
It is beautiful, intimate and with the best sun in Spain. It is a real pleasure having beaches like this in Spain.
I love coming here. In the summer or even winter, it’s a great beach with a lot of greenery and many hotels where you can stay.
The landscape is just beautiful and the beach is very accessible for people in wheelchairs and it has a small park for children.
