Sidamara Sarcophagus

The Sidamara Sarcophagus (named as it was found in that region) is considered, along with Alexander and Aflijidas, one of the most important archaeological museums. It is beautiful compared to these others because it's from the Roman period, instead of the Hellenistic. We can see in the dynamic evolution of the movement of the reliefs, more variegated design, etc. The type size used in this sarcophagus is very Byzantine and subsequently inspired many artists of the early Middle Ages.
