Igreja de São Pedro

This church is situated in the Largo do Guimaraes, a place regarded as the center of the city. The temple was commissioned in 1737 along with some land near the houses of the Brotherhood of San Pedro, situated at that time outside the city. It was enlarged in 1881, for which the houses were demolished in the Brotherhood, but ultimately is was never completely finished (it can be seen that there is only a tower here). The outside is quite simple: A bell tower on the left side, a portico formed by three arches, and two windows with a balcony, which is topped with a triangular pediment. It is rectangular and is divided into two aisles.
