Canada, a country which is known for being eminently secular, has a cathedral basilica which was consecrated by Pope John Paul II and which impresses with its size and has the largest Catholic pilgrimage in North America. It is popular because it supposedly houses a relic of St. Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary.
