Prized by the people of Granada
On the official posters it appears with this name, but it is also known as San Gil and Santa Ana, although in Granada it is popularly known as the parish church of Santa Ana, one of the most beautiful and most prized temples of Granada.
To find it you have to head to the town centre. From the cathedral there remains the road to the Albaicín, a little before getting to this emblematic neighbourhood, next to the Darro river and at the feet of the Alhambra. The location is beautiful very lovely and the buildings have preserved the historical feel. There was a mosque there, the Almanzora, which was remodelled by Diego de Siloé in 1537 into a Christian temple. It is why it has a different structure than the rest of the churches of the time, being made of red bricks and with the minaret still standing among other visible examples.
