Sanmachi Suji

The Sanmachi Suji Takayama is one of the most charming zones I have never been to. It is perfect for a walk through the zone, which has many vestiges of the Edo Period. Imagine those structures with low ceilings and Japanese cherry trees everywhere, the sound of Miyagawa River, and the decorated streets, ready to celebrate the Sanno Matsuri. The Sanmachi Suji has many attractions within a few meters. They are pedestrian areas, so it is best to take a walk. You will see 4 museums, 2 merchant houses of the Edo Period, morning markets and the lovely bridges over the Miyagawa. What tourists like are shops and souvenir stalls.
