Sanctuary of ?wi?ta Lipka

This is one of the main places of worship of Mariano of Poland. According to the legend a prisoner from the XV century carved a miraculous figure of the Virgin and left it hanging from a tree by the roadside and at it's side rose a chapel. The facade and the bell tower were completed in 1729. It was a Catholic stronghold in the Protestant Prussia during the Reformation. In summer there are organ concerts. The church is really beautiful inside, painted every inch, it's a shame it was forbidden to take pictures!
