Alberto Reino Buelvas
A leading hospital
This hospital is one of the few in America with blocks (there are four: one in Chile and two in the US). It was built about 95 years ago, and designed by a French architect who never visited Colombia. The plans came and went in the mail. It is considered a piece of national architectural heritage. But beyond its architecture, this is a leading hospital in all fields, especially in medicine of high complexity. It is a national and regional leader in renal transplantation. It has 5 intensive care units and 650 beds.
