San Roque Parish
Between 1920 and 1930, a humble wooden chapel stood in the Barrio Villa Sarita, in a neighborhood of many houses, lots of trees, rocky dirt roads and majestic views of the Parana. One day, the church completely burned but, miraculously, the image of San Roque remained intact. With the help of neighbors and faithful supporters ve survived, a small wooden building was built for the priests' residence. On December 8, 1977 in the District of Avocados, the foundation stone of the new church was placed and carried in procession to Our Lady of Caa Coupe where a plaque was placed. The new church is simple, light and airy, stripped of ornaments and with a few pictures.
