San Pietro

Andando verso San Pietro, nel bel mezzo del niente, attraverso una mulattiera abitata da mucche, maiali e asini, si notano delle costruzioni in pietra e legno di ginepro che vengono chiamate in sardo "cuiles". Sono state per diverse generazioni i rifugi per i pastori che si spingevano nel Supramonte per allevare capre e maiali, ma che ormai non vengono usate più. Molto particolari.

Going to St. Peter, in the middle of nowhere, through a trail inhabited by cows, pigs and donkeys, you can see the buildings of stone and juniper wood that are called in Sardinian "cuiles." There have been several generations shelters for shepherds who pushed the Supramonte to raise goats and pigs, but now they are not used anymore. Very special.
