Historic building
The San Jose Museum of Art in San Jose was originally built as the post office in 1892. From 1937 to 1969, it was then converted as the town library. In 1972, the building was officially named a California Historic Landmark. Then, in 1973, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The new wing, which makes up most of the current exhibition space was opened in 1991. It is located in the heart of Silicon Valley.
