San Felipe Street
San Felipe Street is (in my opinion) the most beautiful street in San Roque. This street is the one that goes from the Plaza de Andalucia and the mall to the Plaza de la Iglesia. The street is known for the impressive typical Andalusian facades, with balconies and wonderful Andalusian patios, perfectly preserved and cared for. The street name is due to the old chapel of San Felipe Neri, which was a church of the eighteenth century and for much of the nineteenth century was the seat of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows, which incidentally was composed of women only . The chapel was in ruins at the beginning of the twentieth century, being demolished at the end of the 50s.
