Salzedas Fountain
One of the things that struck me from the small town of Salzedas is the presence of several public sources distributed over different parts of the historical district. The most impressive of these is the main square which is built right at the side of the pool. This pool is built of granite and has two pipes of flowing water, which is collected in a tank similar to a trough. Around this source, the Cistercian monastery was built in the twelfth century, as it was within the grounds Teresa Afonso bought for that purpose.
