Getting to Saltholmen from the centre of Gothenburg is easy. The number 11 tram will take you from the city centre to the terminal; it's hard to go wrong! From the harbour, you can board a passenger ship to take you to the islands of southern Sweden. The company that runs the service is "Vsttrafik", and you can travel on the boat with the same ticket you use for the bus or tram. I recommend getting the Gothenburg pass, which offers you plenty of discounts. There is a lot to do on the islands, with hiking, walking and biking trails, for both summer and winter.
