Europe's largest salt lake
Simply incredible, this is the largest salt lake in Europe (140km square) on the southern edge of the Camargue. The collectors' basins are a true spectacle, with the salt changing colour depending on the position of the sun, creating truly impressive optical effects. There are mountains of the sale in the vicinity, glowing white. The viewpoint, a few kilometres south of the city, is a little out of the way, but worth visiting.
