Saja-Besaya Natural Park

The Saja-Besaya Natural Park is a dreamland of ferny forests that bloom with innumerable colors and tasty wild mushrooms during the autumn. This part of Cantabria is truly beautiful and I make a point of visiting whenever I can.

I like visiting in autumn because I practically have the forest to myself. To walk alone on the trails amid the mossy elms and chestnuts to the sound of the river is a real luxury. It’s the perfect escape! The whole region is lovely, and you should also try to visit the mountain villages.

This is just one of Cantabria’s many wonders. Every now and then, I go with a group of friends to explore the park. It’s perfect for nature lovers
