Preserved historical towns
Perfectly preserved historical towns can be found in the French region of Brittany on the coast. The port city of Saint Malo, for example, retains an incredible eight century wall around the city. This so-called pirate town has a history full of independence declarations, pirates and even a fire that destroyed most of the city that has since been reconstructed. The most interesting thing to do in this idyllic landscape is just walk around. Observing the surroundings is a nice treat as you walk the streets of this town. Time really seems to stop as you enjoy the street musicians and serene sunsets that can be seen along the elevated boardwalk.
