Sant Martí del Canigó Monastery
Sant Martí Canigou is a former 11th century Benedictine monastery located on the mountain of Canigou, hence its name. Situated in the beautiful region of French Conflent, it's very close the the marvelout town of Villafranca de Conflent. The climb to the holy place is via a very steep, narrow, and winding concrete path that runs by some clear areas that reveal beautiful lookout points across the horizon. It is absolutely recommended to visit here, even without a specific visit to the monastery itself.
