Worth a visit
Built in 1395 following a commission from the Gonzaga family, this quadrangular castle has four towers and is surrounded by a moat. It catches the eye because of its size and medieval architecture. It is an integral part of the Ducal Palace of the Gonzaga family, famous for the bridal chamber frescoes by Mantegna. In total, the castle is home to 500 rooms covering an area of 35,000 square meters. Not to be missed if you go to Mantova
