Saaremaa Muuseum

Saaremaa Museum was constructed on February 17, 1865, when the Saaremaa Research Society (Verein zur Kunde Oesels) was founded in Kuressaare. JB Holzmayer, a professor of classical languages, ​​did much to initiate and develop the museum and it is the antiquities found during his archaeological excavations that form the basis of the museum's attractions.
