Royal Palaces of Abomey
Abomey is a city in the Republic of Benin, which is located in the Zhou region, 110 kilometers north of the city of Cotonou. The importance of the Palaces of Abomey is that it is the only remnant that remains of this ancient monarchical dynasty, which has disappeared. Some of the details that draw attention to the decoration of these castles are the carvings on the walls, which chronicle the power and history of the Fon tribe. Originally the town was surrounded by a mud wall, with six gates and protected by a ditch.
