The Royal McGregor

Although with regard to meals I´m more in favor of Glasgow, I must admit that this downtown restaurant in the city of Edinburgh is one of the best places in terms of Scottish food that I've tasted. The menu is typical and can be checked on their website, however I think the star is the famous haggis, which in this place is presented as a timbale giving it a good presentation (which is not commonly done). This restaurant is in the heart of the city, the value is more than good and the service is also second to none in the area, considering it is located on one of the most notorious streets in the capital, the famous "Royal Mile".
