Hotel in a beautiful Victorian building
The Royal Eagle Hotel is a 3-star hotel in a beautiful Victorian building from 1905 in a really beautiful area near Hyde Park. The tube and buses are right around the corner and there's a lot to see withing walking distance. The reception was small but comfortable, but we didn't order breakfast because the cost was more than double that of any other place we had been to before.
We arrived late and there was no staff which spoke Spanish and the ones that were there did not make the least effort to understand me when I asked for a plug adapter for my camera battery. Finally, I got them to understand what I was asking for and they ended up charging me for the one they lent me! The first room they put us in didn't have a working light so we moved to another much larger duplex with a very nice balcony overlooking the street.
