Fill your heart with an oh-so-satisfying experience at Roscoe’s.
Even before entering the building, my boyfriend & I were greeted and confirmed that we were dining for two. Inside, we were guided to dining booth. A pink tint pervades the whole area. The environment is a little dim, which is something I’m not too fond of.
The chicken and waffles are a must-try item. You can chose between chicken breast or wings. The waffles come topped with a ball of butter and a little cup of syrup. Spread the whole ball around it and the waffle ends up tasting salty even with syrup. Still, it is a hearty meal.
I recommend the mac and cheese side. It’s cooked just right and isn't overwhelmingly cheesy. If you like yam, the candy yams are good too. They seem to be dipped in syrup, but they’re a little salty as well, so it’s a nice mix.
Service here is impressive and it feels like the servers really want to take care of you. We were always checked on to make sure we were doing fine. I’m especially surprised - in the best way possible - that when we ordered water, the server went as far as to ask if we wanted that with a slice of lemon! (I’m hardly asked that – either water is served with or without a slice, or I have to ask for one.)
Highly recommended for those seeking soul food.
