A 12-hectare garden

The Botanical Garden is a 12-hectare garden on the slopes of Janiculum, in ancient Corsini villa park, which was the residence of Christina of Sweden. The botanical garden is under the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Rome La Sapienza. The most important collections are Palm, Bosquet of bamboos, valley of ferns, Rose Garden and Japanese Garden. At the top of the hill the original tree structure is preserved, an evergreen Mediterranean forest. This sector is called the Bosco Roman, and through the foliage, between specimens of secular oaks and bananas (350-400 years old) are splendid views over the city.

Approximately 12 acres

It is approximately 12 acres and is on the hill of Janiculum in what was Villa Corsini Park. This park is owned by the University of Rome who deals with the conservation. What most impressed me was the Japanese garden - the Japanese themselves come to visit.
