Rocca Maggiore

It's a stylish name for a fortress. Rocca Maggiore, Assisi's fortress with its impregnable, imposing walls, almost in Umbria's sky. The village, prostrate before the sword, silently sleeps, its views not reaching the vast plains in front of me.
