Incredibly photogenic!
Ettlingen is in the valley of the river Alb its center placid and meek and it gives picture postcard views from every corner of the city. Bridges and an old mill dot both shores from which we can observe the colorful collection of pointy buildings with wood and tile. These images are very characteristic of the Black Forest but are more authentic here. The river was the core of the city and this convenient location was even interesting for Roman troops who chose Ettlingen for small colony (some fountains near the river that have survived can still be seen). The delicate floral notes, typical of cities in this area of Germany, produce a very romantic touch that adds to the Baroque buildings that attract us once past the bridge to the old town.
