Cone-shaped volcano
The Natural Park Rincon de la Vieja is ideal (like almost every corner of Costa Rica) for hiking and horseback riding. To get to the volcano, you can follow a trail of yellow (sulfur) lava bordered by lush greenery. It's a "typical" cone-shaped volcano that's almost always surrounded by a mist making it scary. On the way, I saw a black bird, which according to the guide was pretty rare, and I heard the "sombrillas de los pobres," huge leaves that protect the local farmers from the rain.
