Gula Gula Restaurante

One of the places I was invited to lunch by the friends I met travelling in Rio de Janeiro in July, was this restaurant on the third floor of Shopping Rio Carioca Sul. It opened in 1984 and is very well positioned, simple, elegant and cozy with cushions, prints and a wall covered with artificial plants. We went when it was almost closing so there weren't too many people but it was quite busy and the service was excellent. I ordered grilled pink salmon that came with a brochette of vegetables, and rocket salad. My friend ordered onion pie with a palm heart salad with diced cooked ham, corn kernels and cream, and her husband a steak with coarse salt with yellow rice and diced gruyere cheese and Parma.
