Cider is not missing

Cheers for cider and food from Asturias! A place I highly recommend, especially to go with someone from Asturias who feels homesick. Even though some say cider does not taste the same once beyond the Picos de Europa, I love this small piece of Asturias right in Madrid. If the weather makes it possible, the best is to go up to the second floor and enjoy the terrace and the fresh air. The prices are cheap and the products sensational. We had cider chorizo, cabrales cheese and a salty pie, even though the most typical is cider chicken. Dessert? Rice pudding... And some more cider.

Like a present

A whole classic of the city of Madrid. I remember the typical dish of the place is chicken and cider. When I was young this place was like a present on Sundays our parents gave us. Typical "mesón" (restaurant) of large dimensions, do not expect modern food and elegant service. Just enjoy this curious place in an area of Madrid full of places to visit, like the Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida and the wonderful Goya fresco for example, a great work of art. Every time I go back to my city I go there to eat chicken and drink cider, and also walk along the Manzanares, which has lovely views there.

A must

It is without a doubt one of my favorite places to eat in Madrid, it is not only because it is one of the most typical areas and it brings back many memories, but it is because every single thing you order is delicious! And at a very good price.

I recommend cider chorizo (3€) and roasted chicken (7€). It is definitely a must and I will not forgive you if you go to Madrid and do not try cider chorizo at Casa Mingo.
