Fantastic food with views of the Pyrenees

We ate in the Callizo de Ainsa Restaurant (Huesca), on a terrace with views of Peña Montañesa.Very good cuisine at a reasonable price. You have to reserve in advance.

To start with there are some very surprising tapas (haut cuisine with attitude). Trout tataki with seaweed (fusion but not over the top). Memorable zucchini flower with a cod brandade, and surprisingly, to finish a rare entrecote like I had never eating before.

Dessert: “torrijas” with ice cream and fizzy sweets (risky, but very interesting).

One of the best

One of the best, if not the best, places where I have eaten. A mixture of nouvelle cuisine and traditional local ingredients. You have to go early because you could be there eating for several hours, without stopping. The “torrija” is recommended for dessert.

They have put the prices up, but is still worth it. One of the best places I’ve eaten in. Although the last time we had the simple set menu, we left a little hungry, because we didn’t take the usual three hours. But never mind, we will return soon for the tasting menu (the bad thing is that it doesn’t include “torrijas” as a dessert).

Alright

After reading some comments on it, we ate at this restaurant in Ainsa during a weekend getaway. I really love home-style restaurants and I don't really like artsy ones, but the dishes were very well made. I suppose that anywhere else, the food would have cost considerably more. I left hungry, but that's pretty normal for me. Unfortunately, they only brought the wine during the main course, which marred the appetizer with water.
