Tominé Reservoir is situated within the municipalities of Guatavita and Sesquilé, it is part of a network of reservoirs situated in the North of Bogota, which supply power to the capital and its neighboring towns. The reservoir was created about 40 years ago, causing the collapse of the former Guatavita, when they created what is known as the new Guatavita, a small urban settlement that served to relocate the inhabitants of the village.
