Praca da Republica

This is one of the principle squares of the city. Here you can find Aveirense Theatre, the monument to José Coelho de Magallanes Estevao the Town Hall, a Baroque building constructed in the last quarter of the 18th century with a bell tower and the Church of Mercy, constructed around the year 1600, highlighting its cover and interior tiles of the 17th century. The City Council can not be visited. On your doorstep there is a sculpture of Louis Queimadela with multiple faces which is in bad condition, because it is missing a lot of faces and paint.
