Small Roman bridge
Facing the thermal spa of Caldas de Chaves are the remains of a small Roman bridge. It's built entirely of masonry and only two arches remain, which seem to be half buried in the ground. The Támega River is a few meters away so it's surprising that the water level once came up to here. In the city further down the river there's another bridge, the Bridge of Trajan, that dates from the first century and is perfectly preserved.
