Majestic
The Reina Sofía Palace of Arts is a majestic building designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, crafted like a giant symbolic sculpture. On the official website they say that its nautical profile was made to compliment the nearby Mediterranean Sea and its location, which is on the dried of Turia river. The spectacular architecture and environment make it one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the City of Arts and Sciences.
The incredible building is used for performing arts events, although there’s also restaurants and exhibition rooms inside.
The main hall holds 1,700 people and, although it was built for opera performances, can be used for ballet and other types of stage performances, giving it crucial versatility.
