Residence of the President of India
Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India and is located in the capital of New Delhi. It was previously known as the Viceroy's House when it was the residence of the Governor General of India until 1950. The palace was designed by the English architect Edwin Lutyens, one of the architects responsible for planning the new city of Delhi. The building was completed in 1929 and after the independence of India in 1947, it was renamed Rashtrapati Bhavan and became the home of the president.
