Quinta de Los Molinos Park

Now that mother nature is showing her colors in preparation for winter, it's a marvelous time to visit the Quinta de los Molinos. While many people get a bit sad during autumn, I love it! Most choose to go to the park in springtime to see the blossoms, but I think it's also great to visit in autumn to see the colorful leaves.

Most of the times I've gone, I've been the only one there and I love to stroll about the park and just enjoy the silence and peacefulness. It's a perfect time to enjoy the colors of the falling leaves and the odd flower coming into a late-season bloom. There are also lots of birds in the park preparing for the winter ahead.

La Quinta de los Molinos is one of the most unique parks in Madrid, a true oasis of peace in an area far from the city centre.

It's famous above all for its almond and cherry trees which come into bloom at the end of winter and offer a spectacular landscape of red and white flowers.

When the almond trees are blossoming in the Quinta de los Molinos, we're treated to a spectacular sea of white and red flowers.

If you're looking to visit, I'd suggest going in the late afternoon when the last rays of sun show off the flowers in all their beauty.

Especially in spring when the almond trees blossom. It's a charming green spot in the busy city of Madrid, worth the visit if you're looking for quietness and fresh air.
