Putucusi

The Putucusi mountain is just 2400 meters opposite of Machu Picchu. It is a wonderful mountain to visit because from this mountain, you get incredible views of Machu Picchu. Most people climb this mountain before they head over to Machu Picchu, in order to get a sensation beforehand of what they can expect. The route begins in Aguas Calientes, at the entrance of the town (signposted) and lasts approximately two hours. It is not difficult but it requires considerable effort, because the climb is steep and usually very hot. Yes, worth it because, besides being able to see at the top a beautiful view, the road is very beautiful and interesting, for example, the very beginning we find endless stairs are completely vertical bamboo.

Can you give a little dizzy, but the trick is to never look down. When you pass the stairs area (there are about five endless rows of stairs) you come across a narrow path is quite steep. From there is a gradual incline, which is good, because otherwise it's too tough to reach the top.. When you finally get up you come across a fantastic vantage point from which to see perfectly the ruins of Machu Picchu and the winding road that leads to the ruins. The way down isn't difficult and so it's more enjoyable.
