Pancake Rocks

Just outside the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks you will find an amazing natural formation of rocks and natural pools. Our visit took place on a very cold day, so there were very few visitors, which made it even more worthwhile gone there especially to see it. The rocks have been formed this way after millions of years of erosion from the sea, wind and rain. They look like pancakes. Yes, the geysers are much more spectacular at high tide. Conclusion: this is a mandatory stop on the west coast.
