En este pequeño pueblo llamado Púbol, de no más de 150 habitantes, no hay más de 40 casas, la Iglesia de San Isidoro y el Ayuntamiento con su plaza por lo que su principal atractivo está dado por el Castillo o fortificación gótica renacentista de Gala Dalí cuya construcción data del siglo XI, aparece por primera vez mencionado en 1065 en el que su propietario Bastons lo cede a los Condes de Barcelona, es aquí donde el genial Salvador Dalí, Barón de Púbol, incrementó su extraordinario esfuerzo creativo teniendo siempre presente a quien fue su única musa inspiradora, la para él insustituible e incomparable Gala. El lugar era utilizado también como el descanso y refugio de su esposa. Allí pudimos visitar la impecable habitación de Gala, su llamativo y para nada convencional baño, la muy nutrida biblioteca, el salón de piano en el que ella escuchaba extasiada los acordes melódicos que vibraban cuando Dalí ejecutaba alguna partitura, su oratorio personal, su colección de trajes de fiesta, la sencilla y blanca cocina, etc. Otro espectáculo que merece un comentario aparte es el jardín y una serie de exóticas esculturas de elefantes de largas patas, que se encuentran diseminados en diferentes espacios verdes que fueran diseñados por el mismo Salvador Dalí, así como también el Pozo con las cabezas de Wagner que construyó en su homenaje. Con el paso de los años, entre 1982 y 1984, este se lugar se convirtió en su último taller y en el mausoleo para su musa donde se encuentra enterrada.
