Cada vez hay mas gente que prepara su mochila y se decide a recorrer kilómetros y kilómetros hasta llegar a Santiago y Astorga es uno de esos puntos que dan buena fe de ello . La Asociación de los Amigos del Camino de Santiago son los que se han encargado de restaurar por completo este bonito edificio , situado en pleno casco antiguo , y que fue la sede de la congregacion Siervas de María . Tras las grandes obras realizadas y finalizadas en el en el año 2006 , este antiguo convento volvió a abrir sus puertas para dar cobijo a los peregrinos , a cambio de un pequeño donativo de 4€ ( si no han cambiado el precio , era eso lo que estaban pidiendo ) . Disponen de 140 plazas , y cuentan con acceso a internet gratuito . Las habitaciones son sencillas, pero los que lo han probado se han llevado muy buena impresión de este lugar .
