Protestant Temple

This place at the end of St. James's Street is the old Temple Saint Ruf. During the French Revolution, many of the temples and religious buildings were converted into public places to store ammunition or to hold political meetings. This particular temple was occupied by the brotherhood "Friends of the Constitution". Napoleon Bonaparte, the future emperor, was the secretary of this organization.
