Progetto Galleries

L'architettura e il design del Friuli hanno trovato casa alle Gallerie del Progetto. Sede distaccata della Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Udine, questo spazio espositivo si trova a Palazzo Morpurgo, in pieno centro storico. Qui sono conservati gli archivi di disegni originali dei principali architetti friulani del Novecento: da Raimondo D'Aronco a Pietro Zanini ed Emilio Mattioni, oltre ai rendering relativi al design, come la donazione dell'archivio Elettrolux Zanussi. Vengono realizzate molte mostre a tema. Fino a fine anno l'edifico ospita Casa Città: per conoscere e commentare il nuovo Piano Regolatore di Udine. Nell'800 venne abbellito dai conti Valvason, mentre successivamente il palazzo diventò la casa del Barone Morpurgo, mecenate e figura di spicco della Udine dei primi del Novecento. Nel 1969 l'edificio venne lasciato in eredità al Comune di Udine con l'impegno della sua destinazione museale. Il palazzo merita una visita anche per la sua bella forma architettonica e per tutti i tesori d'arte che conserva: il primo piano è abbellito da un ciclo di affreschi di Giambattista Canal e Giuseppe Borsato, artisti tra le più rappresentativi dello stile Neoclassico. L'esterno, caratterizzato da un splendido loggiato con colonnato, invita ad una pausa su una delle panchine all'interno del giardino, incantevole sia d'estate sia coperto dalla neve.

The architecture and design of the Friuli have found a home in the Galleries of the Project. Branch of the Gallery of Modern Art in Udine, this exhibition space is located in Palazzo Morpurgo, in the historic center. Here are kept the archives of original drawings of the principal architects of the twentieth century Friulian: Raimondo D'Aronco to Peter Zanini and Emilio Mattioni, in addition to rendering regarding the design, such as the donation of Electrolux Zanussi. They are made many themed exhibitions. Until the end of year the building houses City House: to learn about and comment on the new Master Plan of Udine. In 800 was embellished by Valvason accounts, while later the building became the home of Baron Morpurgo, patron and figurehead of Udine in the early twentieth century. In 1969 the building was bequeathed to the City of Udine with the commitment of its destination museum. The palace is also worth visiting for its beautiful architectural form and all the treasures of art that: the first floor is decorated with a cycle of frescoes by Giambattista Canal and Giuseppe Borsato, one of the most representative artists of the neoclassic style. The exterior is characterized by a beautiful portico with columns, calls for a break on one of the benches in the garden, lovely in summer and covered with snow.
