A very nice place to visit
At the mouth of the Douro there's a beach called Praia do Titan, it's in Matosinhos and can be easily reached by metro. The beach is very nice and well maintained, if dirty. Besides the beach and the dam, there's a walkway that runs along the beach, almost to the Porto aquarium - it's a very nice place to visit.
