Time travel to the Middle Ages: that seems to be what the inn is trying to convey, and is considered one of the best in Portugal. Partly rebuilt and restored in the mid 80's, the monastery of Santa Marinha won the National Architecture award. It is located on a hill overlooking the city of Guimarães, the XII century original building includes vaulted ceilings, tiles XVIII, patios with fountains, gardens, balconies and terraces overlooking the city, and lavish accommodations. It´s a nice place to go for a weekend of luxury.
